Denise Lucero

Denise was always captivated by the beauty of orchids when relocating to her native California and attended her first orchid show. There she discovered the wonderful diverse variety of orchids and joined the Napa Valley Orchid Society where she found a welcoming community of encouraging orchid growers who generously offered education and guidance to become an orchid grower herself. A new passion was found and she began her orchid journey.

Eager to learn more about orchids, Denise attended all of the regional events she could. While attending Speakers Day at California Sierra Nevada Judging Center she learned of the American Orchid Society Fall Members Meeting being held nearby in Reno, Nevada and decided to join the larger community. At that meeting Denise joined the AOS Affiliated Societies Committee and began writing the committee's newsletter for affiliates, the AOS Corner.  She is also a member of the AOS judging community currently serving as Treasurer at California Sierra Nevada Judging Center.

Professionally Denise brings administrative experience from the maritime industry, having worked for many years at an International Shipping Terminal in the Port of Oakland. She looks forward to being able to contribute to the achievement of the AOS in fulfilling its Mission and Goals.
