Nine stellate flowers six buds on 15 inflorescences up to 0.4cm long; plant growing in a 6.5cm square plastic pot with a fine bark mixture, plant 42cm wide x 31cm tall, largest growth 12cm wide x 31cm tall, lean and weedy orchid with a fleshy flattened stem carrying two to four oblong leaves, largest leaf 2.2cm wide x 19.5cm long, largest stem 2.0cm wide x 13.5cm long, that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a globose-capitate, densely many flowered, short inflorescence with fibrous-membranous, lanceolate, subacute, brown floral bracts, root tips green; sepals and petals translucent white; lip white, pale yellow proximally, erose margins distally, side lobes small, pale yellow, ovary small, white; column white with white cup-like projection on inferior, distal end, anther cap white and age to tan with brown central spot; ovary 0.1cm wide x 0.7cm long, greenish white, ribbed longitudinally, covered with dry brown bracts; substance sepals and petals light, lip heavy; texture crystalline; flowers age to pale yellow; species native to Assam, the eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam; ID by SITF _______________.
