Finding
SITF has determined this plant to be Bryobium pudicum, not Bryobium senile (Jan 2025). Jim Cootes, an authority on Philippine Orchids, stated this plant was not B. senile. B. senile according to the descriptions is a bifoliate. This plant is a unifoliate. A matching description of B. pudicum may be found in the "Flora of China". The flower size is in range (5-7 mm). The inflorescence is long at 8 cm vs. 4 cm. The plant is floriferous at 16 flowers per inflorescence against the description in the Flora of China of more than 10 flowers per inflorescence. On enlargement, the flowers show minute hairs on the margins and possibly on reverse side of lateral sepals and it closely matches Kurt Keller's photo of Eria pudica (Synonym) in the IOSPE. The flowers on this plant are striped and the pseudobulbs have only one leaf which fit the photos and description of B. pudicum.
