In reviewing the prior awards to this species, there are two prior cultivars both having the same clonal name 'Rainbow' but they are very different flowers. It seems that there may be some confusion on this species, so I would like to have this one evaluated and also determine which of the prior two awards is correctly named and what the other might be.

Fifty-nine flowers on three umbellate inflorescences up to 20 cm; dorsal sepal and petals mustard, stippled burgundy; lateral sepals fused, light mustard, speckled light burgundy throughout; dorsal sepal hooded, concave, apex with hair-like projection; petals porrect, margins ciliated; lip fleshy, articulate and deflexed, chalk white, speckled old rose; substance slightly firm; texture crystalline, dorsal sepal and lip waxy.
