Cattleya-pygmaea-2021-02-13***Re-determined to be Cattleya mantiqueirae, not Cattleya pygmaea (July 2021); SITF has re-analyzed this submission upon request and with the help of Francisco Miranda, a Brazilian taxonomist well-known for his work with Brazilian Cattleyas, SITF re-affirmed that this is most probably C. mantiqueirae, not C. pygmaea; Francisco stated the he has seen both C. mantiquierae and C. pygmaea in the habitat and C. pygmaea flowers are no more than half the size of this flower; the taller, fusiform pseudobulbs and leaves with purplish suffusion on the undersides of the leaves are also characteristic of C. mantiqueirae.***
