Schlimia-condorana-2022-09-16 SITF confirmed as Schlimia condorana (Oct 2022); S. condorana is similar to S. alpina, however, S. alpina has a very long beak-like rostellum that projects into the lip and a large, flat callus that covers most of the surface of the lip; the crest of S. condorana is much smaller, fleshy and typically yellow as in this plant; the crest appears almost suspended in the lip and the rostellum is shorter than in S. alpina; matches the photo by Grobler and description in the OW and the photos in the IOSPE and orchidspecies.com.

Sixteen non-resupinate flowers and 8 buds on 5 13.8-cm pendent inflorescences encased with overlapping sheaths on a well-grown and well-flowered plant grown in fine bark in a 15-cm plastic basket; leaves ovate, plicate to 26 cm long, 10 cm wide; pseudobulbs compressed, 3 cm tall, 1.5 cm wide; dorsal sepal faintly ribbed, white, spotted pink; petals faintly ribbed, white, spotted pink; lateral sepals fused; faintly ribbed, white, blotched pink; lip hypochile yellow, mesochile whie, pale yellow centrally, epichile white overlaid pale yellow, lightly blotched pink; anther cap bright yellow; substance hard, texture heavy; fragrance exceptionally complex and pleasing. Exhibited as Schlimia condorana with no location of origin given.
