Description:
Ten flowers on two pendant inflorescences, one immature inflorescence; sepals and petals creamy yellow spotted maroon; petals light yellow spotted maroon; lip creamy white , hypochile prominent eye-like spots black, mesochile and epichile lightly spotted maroon; column and anther cap creamy green, column finely spotted maroon; substance firm; texture waxy; per WCSPF natural distribution from Costa Rica. Honduras, Nicaragua and Panamá; awarded provisionally as Stanhopea confusa G.Gerlach & Beeche, Lankesteriana 4: 217 (2004) pending taxonomic verification.
