Overview
Miniature creeping epiphytes. Pseudobulbs ovoid. Leaves 2--3, apical, leathery. Inflorescences terminal racemes on modified leafless pseudobulbs. Flowers brilliantly colored. Sepals and petals free, spreading, subsimilar, subequal. Lip three-lobed, subsimilar to the other segments, fused with the column at the base. Column without wings or a foot; pollinia 4, naked.
Etymology
Commemorating Don Lucas Alamán, a Mexican public official who was a contemporary of the authors.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to Mexico.

Grow plants of Alamania on small slabs with a small pad of moisture-retaining material at the roots. Provide bright light, intermediate temperatures, and regular watering when in active growth. Provide cool temperatures and allow to almost dry out between watering after the growths have matured.
