Overview
Miniature terrestrials arising from tubers. Leaves two, basal, opposite, unequal, pubescent. Inflorescences erect, pedunculate, one-flowered. Flowers white. Sepals and petals free, spreading, the dorsal sepal larger, the lateral sepals and petals subsimilar, subequal. Lip unlobed, sessile. Column arching, with narrow apical wings; pollen finely granular.
Etymology
From the Greek aporein, meaning to be uncertain, and stylis, style, in reference to the column being intermediate between Caladenia and Chiloglottis.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to New Zealand.
