Overview
Caespitose epiphytes. Pseudobulbs ovoid, strongly many ribbed, subtended by persistent scarious bracts. Leaf solitary, plicate, petiolate. Inflorescences basal, the floral bracts to half the length of the ovary. Sepals and petals subsimilar, subequal, free, spreading. Lip three-lobed, the sidelobes erect, divergent, fused anteriorly to form a low keel. Column short, straight, dilated toward the apex, the clinandrium terminal and at 90? to the column, the stigma ventral, surrounded by narrow wings; pollinarium not seen, but expected to bear two pollinia.
Etymology
Named for the archives of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to Brazil.
