Overview
Terrestrials with fleshy, fasciculate roots. Leaves rosulate, long-petiolate. Inflorescences elongate, erect, long-pedunculate, pedunculate racemes. Flowers numerous, cupped. Sepals free, spreading. Petals free, appressed to the dorsal sepal forming a hood. Lip three-lobed, sessile, with thickened basal margins. Column erect, rostellum small, finger-like; pollinia 2, granular.
Etymology
Named for Otto Buchtien, a prominent botanical collector in Bolivia.
Distribution
A monotypic genus ranging from Ecuador to Bolivia.
