Overview
Miniature saprophytes arising from tubers. Stems erect, unbranched, concealed by bracts. Inflorescences terminal, few-flowered racemes. Flowers erect. Sepals and petals free, spreading, subsimilar, subequal, the dorsal sepal concave and hood-like. Lip unlobed, tubular, with callus. Column erect, somewhat arching, winged, the anther apiculate; pollinia mealy.
Etymology
Named for Gilbert T. Burnett, first Professor of Botany in King’s College, London.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to Australia and Tasmania.
