Etymology
Named in honor of Italian botanist H. Galeotti, who intensively collected orchids in Mexico and Central America in the early 19th century.

Grow plants of Galeottia in shallow pots or baskets of medium- to fine-grade epiphyte mixture. With the exception of G. grandiflora which requires intermediate to warm temperatures, all species should be given cool-intermediate to cool temperatures. Provide bright light levels and regular watering throughout the year, reducing the watering slighlty after maturation of the new pseudobulbs. No pronounced rest period is required.
