Etymology
From the Greek myoxanthos, meaning a mouse-like flower, of unknown significance.
Distribution
A genus of 47 species from throughout the Neotropics. The genus is divided into three subgenera and three sections.

Grow plants of Myoxanthus in pots or baskets of fine- to medium-grade epiphyte mixture. Provide medium light levels, cool-intermediate to cool temperatures, and regular watering throughout the year.
