Overview
Caespitose epiphytes. Pseudobulbs ovoid. Leaves 3--4, lanceolate. Inflorescences erect racemes with subinflated floral bracts. Flowers showy, waxy. Sepals and petals subsimilar, subequal, free, spreading. Lip three-lobed, the callus a prominent transverse crest. Column stout, straight, not winged, without a foot; pollinia 4, in two pairs sessile on a common viscidium.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to Brazil.

Grow Neogardneria in pots with a medium grade epiphyte mixture. Provide medium light levels, intermediate to cool-intermediate temperatures, and regular watering throughout the year. Growth in Neogardnerias is cyclic but the plants do not appear to require a pronounced dry season.
