Etymology
From the Greek otos, meaning ear, and stylis, meaning column, referring to the conspicuous subapical wings of the type species.
Distribution
A genus of three species found in northern South America and Trinidad.

Grow plants of Otostylis in azalea pots of terrestrial mixture. Provide bright light levels, cool temperatures, and regular watering throughout the year. The roots should never fully dry out. It is critical to avoid high daytime temperatures to avoid a series of pathogens.
