Overview
Caespitose terrestrials with thick roots. Pseudobulbs small, partially subterranean. Leaves usually two, elliptic-lanceolate, acute-acuminate, long-petiolate. Inflorescences erect, scapose racemes, sometimes with one basal branch, the floral bracts minute. Sepals and petals free, spreading. Lip three-lobed, with a transverse callus crest. Column curved, ,club-shaped, with apical wings, with a short foot; pollinia 4, in two uneual pairs, sessile on a common viscidium.

A genus of four species endemic to Brazil.

Grow Paradisanthus in pots of a rich terrestrial mixture with good moisture-retaining capabilities. Provide medium light levels, warm temperatures, and steady watering throughout the season. Paradisanthus have proven difficult to cultivate and bottom heat from heating cables is recommended.
