Cranichideae subtribe Spiranthinae. Some authors place Physogyne in either Pseudogoodyera or Schiedeella.
Overview
Rosulate terrestrials. Roots fasciculate, fleshy. Leaves few, petiolate. Inflorescences erect, scapose racemes, the floral bracts longer than the ovaries. Flowers tubular, whitish. Sepals and petals free, subsimilar, the dorsal sepal and petals appressed, the lateral sepals subsaccate. Lip unlobed, clawed, auriculate. Column with the rostellum linear, acute; pollinia 2.
Distribution
A genus of two species endemic to Mexico.
