Classification
Epidendreae subtribe Pleurothallidinae. Pleurothallopsis closely resembles Restrepiopsis but differs by the pollinia number. Pleurothallopsis bears eight pollinia while Restrepiopsis bears four pollinia.
Overview
Miniature caespitose epiphytes. Ramicauls short, concealed by tubular bracts. Leaves 1, elliptic, obtuse. Inflorescences erect, solitary. Flowers cupped. Dorsal sepal and petals free, spreading, the lateral sepals fused for their length. Lip three-lobed, the lateral lobes erect, with a central pair of callus keel. Column arching; pollinia 8, naked.
Distribution
A monotypic genus endemic to Brazil.
