From the Greek stenos, meaning narrow, and glotta, meaning tongue, referring to the slender lobes of the lip.

Grow plants of Stenoglottis in pots with a combination of seedling-grade epiphyte mixture and sharp sand. Provide bright light levels, cool-intermediate temperatures, and regular watering throughout the year. In nature the plants go through a semi-dormancy after flowering. This dormancy period is not required in cultivation but care should be taken to avoid over-watering prior to the onset of new growth.
