In his tenure at Longwood Gardens, Horticulture Specialty Grower, Greg Griffis, has launched Longwood’s orchid hybridizing program into the forefront focusing on some of the lesser-known terrestrial orchids. In this webinar, Greg discusses native conditions for these orchids, growth cycles, care and culture information, as well as his plans for their hybridization. Since starting this program, he has already registered dozens of new hybrids and won AOS awards for a few of them. Some of the genera discussed in the webinar are Disa, Cynorkis, Habenaria, Pecteilisand two intergenetic hybrids Cynorkaria and Pectabenaria.” Other genera Greg has worked with are Cattleya, Encyclia, Paphiopedilum, and Sobralia.
