Summary
The Orchidaceae Family is one of the oldest families of flowering plants, appearing sometime in the Late Cretaceous Period. Since that time, native orchids have spread to every continent except Antarctica and can be found in every climate except those that are permanently frozen or permanently dry. In this class, we will explore orchid physiology and what makes an orchid an orchid, terminology, growth, and care instructions, as well as learn some trivia and fun facts.
