Cymbidium-cyperifolium-subsp-indochinense-2021-12-05SITF has confirmed this plant as Cymbidium cyperifolium subsp. indochinense (Aug 2022); identification was made with the aid of Philip Cribb; C. cyperifolium subsp. indochinense and C. sinense flowers are similar, but the plants differ in their foliage; the foliage in this plant, including the leaf articulation, better matches Cym. cyperifolium subsp. indochinense; the leaf length and margin, dorsal sepal length, and the midlobe margin being entire matches the description noted in DuPuy & Cribb's 1988, "The Genus Cymbidium".

Cymbidium cyperifolium subsp. indochinense Du Puy & P.J.Cribb, Genus Cymbidium: 176 (1988).
This name is accepted.
Four flowers on one erect 48-cm inflorescence; leaves to 60cm long by 1cm wide, floral bracts chartreuse; plant grown in mix of perlite, coarse bark and charcoal in 16-cm diameter plastic pot; sepals chartreuse suffused oxblood, median darker oxblood; petals porrect, chartreuse suffused oxblood concentrated darker basally, median darker oxblood; lip chartreuse spotted oxblood, midlobe acutely reflexed; column white distally yellow, speckled oxblood ventrally, anther cap white; substance firm; texture waxy; commended for rarity in cultivation and color; plant indigenous to Indochina. Cymbidium cyperifolium subspecies indochinense is a provisional award pending identification by SITF.
