Description: Fifty-one flowers and 71

buds on one terminal, upright, paniculate, seven-branched inflorescence 51-cm

tall borne on a five growth up to 74-cm plant grown in a 11 cm plastic pot

filled with bark as a growing medium; stems are covered with leaf-bearing

complanate sheaths; leaves coriaceous, distichous, elliptic-oblong to ligulate,

broadly rounded apex bilobed, slightly narrow base; flowers green-yellow,

sepals, petals and lip lightly suffused pale red, lighter on lip; dorsal sepal oblanceolate,

acute; lateral sepals oblanceolate; petals linear, slightly broadened upwards,

acute; trilobed lip, irregularly crenulate marginally; column dilated on

distal half; substance firm; texture matte; per WCSPF the natural distribution

is Western South America to North West Venezuela provisionally awarded as

Epidendrum excisum Lindl., Edwards's Bot. Reg. 30(Misc.): 86 (1844) pending

taxonomic verification by SITF.
