Maxillaria-aureoglobula-2021-11-24***Confirmed as Maxillaria aureoglobula (Jan 2022); this plant matches Maxillaria aureoglobula as described in the AOS Bulletin 71 (2) (Feb 2002) by Eric Christenson, as well as in his unfinished Monograph on Maxillaria; a key characteristic is the lip crest (callus) of M. aureoglobula, which is a mostly rectangular pad at the base of the lip that does not extend out on the midlobe and which may be papillose or smooth, whereas on M. choacoensis the crest tapers to a fairly sharp point that ends well out on the midlobe, also the M. aureoglobula flower is a vibrant, bright yellow color which matches this flower.***
