Finding
This plant matches the very good photo, several illustrations and description of Dendrobium fuscifaucium; found in novataxa.blogspot.com, "Species New to Science", May 2022. It as named for the chocolate disk on the lip. The species was originally found and described from a local nursery and supposedly was collected from the Kasi District in the Vientiane Province of Laos. It is similar to D. hekouense, D. luoi and wangliangii.

One charming flower on one 1.3-cm inflorescence arising from a subapical node of one of eight deciduous pseudobulbs on a 4.6 cm wide x 2 cm high plant, mounted on a 4.4 cm wide by 6.5 cm high cork slab with sphagnum moss; pseudobulbs ovoid, 0.4cm wide by 1.2cm long, bear two lanceolate leaves 0.8cm wide by 1.8 cm long which are dark green on obverse and flushed purple on reverse; sepals and petals fuchsia, lightly veined purple; dorsal sepal ovate; lateral sepals ovate, cupped and slightly overlapped; petals ovate; lip tubular, opening distally to margin, fuchsia, veined light purple, hirsute, suffused maroon proximally, rimmed golden yellow distally; margin fimbriate; column and anther cap bright chartreuse; substance firm; texture satiny, lip velvet; native to Laos; awarded for rarity in culture and educational value.
