Plant was removed from an old apple orchard located at the Oregon Department of Agriculture Greenhouses approximately one year ago on Hawthorne Ave, Salem, Or as part of a rescue mission as the orchard was about to be mowed on a frequent basis. It has been growing for the past year in soil from the orchard in a 22 cm terra cotta pot in full sun or as much sunlight as possible. The foliage was semi-dormant. The sepals and petals are fused the entire length to form a forward-pointing hood covering the column and the lip.
The owner of the plant is Tom Valente, his email is tmjbxx@gmail.com, phone number 503-586-8430. The plant should be native to the Pacific Northwest.
