Prosthechea karwinskii 2023-12-13
Posted on December 13, 2023
Finding
SITF agrees this plant is Prosthechea karwinskii (Dec 2024). P. karwinskii and P. citrina are almost identical. The only definitive way to tell them apart would be to count the pollinia. This plant is almost identical in flower and lip form to a recent (2023) award to P. karwinskii. One feature which distinguishes P. karwinskii from P. citrina is the shape of the bottom of the lip, which on P. karwinskii is ‘flat’ rather than bulging as shown in the profile of the lip.
